a newly renamed church

Cedar Lake Christian Assembly

  • brand identity
  • responsive web
  • cms
Six hundred miles between us and them, and it never showed.

§ I
The Problem

Cedar Lake had just renamed from Cedar Lake Church and had no logo or site to match. The old site was dated and, with no one on staff who knew HTML, impossible to keep current. They needed a new identity, an easier site, and a way for new visitors, members, and remote viewers to each find what they came for.

§ II
What We Built

A refreshed identity

We partnered on a new logo and print materials, then built the online brand around it: a system of type, color, and elements simple enough to work with graphics from every ministry. Working 600 miles away, we kept the team in the loop with style tiles instead of slow, full mockups.

A responsive site for a global congregation

We pushed for a responsive layout from day one. It adapts to any device and loads fast for remote members and deployed military families on slower connections anywhere in the world.

A CMS they can run themselves

We built the site on a CMS with tailored content elements and page layouts, integrated their new Church Community Builder service, then trained the team remotely so they could keep it current without a developer.

§ III
The Outcome

Involvement through Church Community Builder went up, online viewing got easier and grew, and traffic has climbed steadily since launch. Most of all, a small church with no web staff has been able to maintain and improve the site on its own.

“They did an excellent job of keeping the project on track and finishing on time.”
